I get to do mostly what I want, everyday. Facials, pedi’s, mani’s, even a nap once in a while.
I can work out for any length of time I choose. 1 hour, 2 hours, or 20 minutes…
I can read a book, attend school functions, hang out with family, and go dancing on the weekends.
If I’m interested in it, I’m doing it! Love THAT.
Looking back on the journey of trial and error, wins and losses, I have finally come to the point of living off of what I call ‘passive income’. It feels like a dream, in a way, surreal.
One of my favourite topics is the world of real estate. I am so grateful to God that I started investing in my early 20’s. In fact, did you know there’s a direct correlation between a person purchasing property in their early 20’s and wealth? One of the number one predictors, it’s true! Another reason to get started now. No time like the present!
With much perseverance and a steady climb upward, I can now see the fruits of my labour, by living off of my self-generated income through, yup, you guessed it: Rental Property!
Why am I telling you this? Because it amazes me how many people don’t GET THIS. I want you to actually GET the FREEDOM of all this! It is truly awesome. And it’s so incredibly simple! Don’t get me wrong, it is time consuming when find a great deal, or sell a place and make a pretty profit, laughing all the way to the bank. But hey, somebody’s gotta do it! And it might as well be you.
Any chance I get, I tell people (especially single moms) buy property! There are ways to do this without ANY money. Yes! You heard right! If you want it bad enough, are willing to do the work, you can own your own place. And many more thereafter, depending on where you’re at in your journey!
Do I know what I’m talking about? Heck, yes! Have I done this myself? Yes! Do I have a rich daddy/husband/friend or a trust fund? No way José! I did this with Guts & GRIT, of course! Lots of trial and error. Sometimes I wish I had someone show me the way, but, I had to struggle through it myself. And that’s great because I’ve learned lessons I will never forget. Lessons that are embedded in my mind for good. And the learning never ends!
Where I grew up, people didn’t have much. Beautiful city, except for my neighbourhood. Times were tough back then. Perhaps that is what gave me the courageous heart I have today. Whatever it was, I am grateful that I never gave up, and my journey continues today.
Bottom Line: BUY PROPERTY. Get it out of your head that you can’t buy anything, you have no money, you don’t have the time. Those thoughts are all self defeating, bogus lies. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies, can’t we? In ten years from now, you’ll be so glad you did it, and you’ll wish you had started sooner.
So get online, drive around some neighbourhoods near you, start hunting, start comparing prices, get to know your market, find a realtor/mortgage broker/lawyer who are pros at what they do.
Get started now!
Until next time,
